Finding a Faculty Research Mentor (New Scholars)

The purpose of this workshop is to provide guidance to participants on how to find, connect, and begin building a relationship with faculty. Through mentoring, faculty members provide expertise, experiences, and advice to students. Faculty research mentors serve as a guide for students while they conduct research together, and are instrumental in succeeding before and during graduate programs. Participants in this workshop will learn what materials are needed to connect meaningfully with faculty, how to structure an initial interest email, and how to sustain these relationships for future connections and opportunities.
