The TRIO SSS and SSS-STEM Programs is currently full for the 2025-26 school year. Our application for the 2026-27 school year will open on June 1, 2026. Please complete the interest form below to be alerted as to when the application re-opens. Participation in the TRIO SSS and SSS-STEM Programs is competitive.

Interested students must be:

1. A citizen or national of the U.S., or a person who meets the residency requirement for Federal student financial assistance.
2. A student must be enrolled as a full-time, bachelor’s degree-seeking student at NC State University or accepted for enrollment in the next academic semester.
3. A student must have a need for academic support, as determined by NC State University TRIO SSS & SSS-STEM Program, in order to pursue successfully a post-secondary educational program.
4. And the student meets one of the following criteria:
   1. Meets income requirements based on federal guidelines
   2. First-generation college student (neither parent nor guardian has received a 4-year degree)
   3. An individual registered with the Disability Resource Office
