TRIO Day of Service

On February 24, 1986 a congressional resolution declared that Saturday, February 28, 1986 should be designated as “National TRIO Day” to commemorate the annual achievements of the Federal TRIO programs across the country.

Every year since then, the NC State TRIO Programs have celebrated thousands of our graduates succeeding in post secondary enrollment and graduation. The problem of socioeconomic educational inequity remains as our country faces a wider gain in educational attainment. The growing need for an educated workforce to remain globally competitive is paramount and we feel TRIO Programs across the country are doing their part to give all young people no matter their socioeconomic status an opportunity to participate in this process.

Join the NC State TRIO Programs on March 18, 2017 for the TRIO Day of Service. Michael Bonner, featured on the “Ellen Show” will be our guest speaker.
